Tuesday and Wednesday (climbing & power endurance work)

Nothing too exciting here folks.
I decided I need a rest day Monday, in light of the 12 hour drive back form New Hampshire. Yesterday I banged out some laps on the campus board, including a new PR then boudered a bit. I’m planning on switching to a month of power endurance work now, which should take me into the start of the rock season.
This is my first time doing so much climbing specific cross training – I’m eager to see how it’ll pan out. Reading various training books you get very varied opinions on how effective fingerboard, campus boards and the like are, as compared to just working on the movement itself through climbing.
Today I did this little power endurance gem It’s another adopted mountain athlete mostly adopted because I didn’t have a rope to climb handy, and didn’t bring my sandbags or a backpack to the gym.
Warm Up:
2 rounds of:
Barbell Complex (6 deadlifts, 6 bent over rows, 6 hang power cleans, 6 front squats, 6 push press, 6 back squats, 6 push ups, 6 overhead squats) at 88 and 98lbs.
5 strict pullups
HAM Hip mobility complex.
Then:
7, 6,5,4,3,2,1 reps of:
Step ups x10 with 40lbs bar on back (i.e. 70 step ups, then 60, etc..)
Ab Wheel
Ankles to bar X2 (i.e. 14, then 12 reps, etc..)
Virtual Shoveling, 45lbs on end of bar. Do each side (so 7 right, 7 left, etc..)
1-arm sit up @35lbs (do each side)
Sandbag Half moon (used 35lbs DB)
Fun workout. Thankfully no glycogen issues this time. Had a potato and blueberries this morning with breakfast, and an apple right before the workout.
