Forming a race of Kettlebell supermen!
Posted on | March 30, 2009 | 9 Comments
Yesterday I had to go to a standard supermarket, and there in the impulse buy stand, the cover of a certain well known women’s magazine had an article about using kettlebells to turn yourself into a bikini model without sweat, discipline or effort!
Paleo is a good approach, don’t outsmart it.

It seems to be human nature that when people find something that works, they tend to run with it. They tend to go overboard and try to improve on it too. I believe the expression is “There is none so zealous as the recently converted”. But, it seems a lot of people find something that works, and the they just turn the blinders on and forget to examine any further claims critically if they come from whatever ideological camp they identify with.
Broccoli and Cheese Quiche (Paleo + Dairy)

Posting another recipe today, but my regular tirades on my usual subjects should resume soon. In the meanwhile I keep coming across other things I want to share. For those of you who are really strict about it this one is not Paleo because of the inclusion of the cheese and milk. However it is really good, arguably healthy, and pretty straight forward to make.
Launching Rayna’s Site.

I’ve mentioned my long time girlfriend Rayna on here a few times, and she’s written a few pieces for this site. While our opinions are similar on a lot of the things I write about, she’s definitely someone with a lot to say on her own. We’ve been putting together a site for her to use for her photography and blogging and thought today would be a good time to kick it off

This was brutal. The KB clean and jerk really slowed me down. I need to revisit my form on these. I have a red and purple bruise on my left shoulder from the belle’ slamming into it – which should have been an indicator that I’m doing something wrong. I have the “snap” through part just fine for KB snatches (i.e. they don’t hurt my forearms) but clearly I’m missing some of the technique to clean them. If anyone has any pointers or good tutorials I’d appreciate it.
Breakfast bake (yes it’s paleo, primal, or whatever buzzword you prefer)

Spring is apparently here. For most people this seems to be a positive thing, personally I always kind of dread it. I really love my winter sports and this means that the ice climbing and skiing season is really coming to an end. That said, it does have certain advantages. One if which is that the bakes I make for breakfast become a regular thing again.
It’s not a conspiracy, take off the foil hat.

Let’s assume for a second that the wild eyed ones are correct though. In my opinion, unless there is GOOD proof, claims of conspiracies make it too easy to dismiss you as a card carrying member of the tin foil hat brigade.
