So this site has taken a completely different turn than the way it started. It began as a place for my somewhat mean spirited ramblings about the ineptitude I run into in training and fitness circles.
This didn’t really pan out. It seems I’m not really the immature and mean spirited elitist I thought I was. The more I went down this road, the less right it felt. Instead this has become a place for my free form ramblings about training trends, nutrition, social issues and whatever other random tangents spring to mind. It seems there are a good deal of people out here who are interested in discussing these subjects, and I feel much better thinking I’m contributing something that might be useful.

Below is the original description of this site, that it (or I) appear to have grown out of.

This site was created with the understanding that for every person out there working intelligently toward their goal, there are a dozen out there screaming while they do quarter squats and bicept curls.

Some of them you can’t blame.  They are trying after all.

This site isn’t for them.  This site is for the people curling in the squat rack, telling women not to lift heavy “so they don’t get too big”, and giving each other high fives after bouncing the bar off their chest in a bench press.

If we can’t get rid of them, we might as well be entertained by them.
